We provide Medical Physics services for Dental & GP practices, Private Hospitals, Veterinary practices and educational establishments in Ireland. All work is supervised by a registered Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA). We also provide RPA services for Industrial Radiography.

The RPII & Licensing Of Practices

All practices using x-ray apparatus must have a licence from the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII) and must comply with a schedule of licence conditions. Each x-ray unit in use must be listed in schedule 2 of the licence. If an x-ray unit is listed with a licensing restriction "for commissioning only", then the equipment must not be used clinically until it has been commissioned by your RPA.

The RPII have a team of inspectors who have the statutory authority to enter and inspect any practice with x-ray apparatus, to revoke the licence where the licensee fails to comply with licence conditions, and to prosecute unlicensed users of x-ray apparatus.
